Let us take a moment to remember her . . . warm, sweaty, a good place to sleep (at least for some after a long night of imbibing). However, at least for me, the sauna was a beautiful representation of my father's building skills. Yes I know that she was built in the . . . 70s? And I know that she was constructed through the creativity of a young hipster returning to nature. However, with the skills, the imagination, and a ridiculous source of cedar and redwood, my father created a place for retreat. Believe me, when one tears down the creation of a true craftsman one attempts a great feat in human strength. Unfortunately, the sauna had reached her end. Through years of weather, beetles, and trees falling on her, it was time for her to move on.
So, as you can see, she did. Now, in her place is a bit of soft earth (perfect for a tent) serenaded by Kelly Creek. As the grounds progress towards perfection (in the constant state of flux sense) and we get closer to the day that we each get to enjoy together, let us appreciate . . . well, let us appreciate my parents.
Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day and I am filled with anticipation as each day brings us closer to the next!
(Oh, and sorry for my squealing during the film).
